Donner Lake

I enjoyed my trip to see Uncle Matt and Grandpa John. I did NOT like flying because I could not get my ears to clear and they drove me crazy. Although I did enjoy playing โ€œstick my tongue out and spitโ€ with the stewardess!!!

I had a really neat octagonal pack-and-play to sleep in at Uncle Mattโ€™s. It gave me a TON of room to flop around… although I ended up with Mommy most of the night anyway.

I got to see snow. Here is Mommy lugging me around wile making sure Breighton was trying to give Uncle Matt a heart attack with his crazy running and pulling.

Happy with my Mommy for snuggles.

Starting to get chilly.

Mommy wanted a picture of Breighton and me. Daddy only got off one shot.

And at the top…what a view…

Heading back towards the car…Mommy was tuckered from lugging me all over.

My New Fire Breathing Dragon… SO NOT COOL!

So it is 12:35am and I was sleeping rather peacefully until this BLARING SIREN STARTED SOUNDING! AHHHHHH! WAAAA WAAAA WAAAA WAAAA! Ugh! FIRE ALARM! People scrambling, doors opening, big brother screaming and me lost in all the chaos for a moment or two!

So I haven’t been 100% myself and I have been coughing a lot at night. Mommy said the wimpy humidifier just doesn’t cut it for making me feel better, so we bought a new one today. It is really neat, it looks like a fire breathing dragon and puts out a good amount of cool mist. But when you add a LOT of cool mist (4 hours build-up) to a room with no return vent (HINT HINT DADDY!) you can apparently manage to set off the fire alarm. The BIG FIRE ALARM! For those of you who have heard the death siren… your ears probably still haven’t recovered.

When the alarm went off Mommy went to get me and then B. As soon as she opened my door… she was accosted by a wall of cool mist. Yes, a literal wall. It was like walking into a very very thick fog. Cut it with a knife type fog. So, Daddy shut off the alarm and deal with the alarm company while Mommy tried to re-assure me and B that all was well.

Breighton went right back to sleep and I had a snack and thought the middle of the night attention from both Mommy and Daddy was kind of cool.

Needless to say, they both decided that if I need my humidifier again, they will turn down the intensity ๐Ÿ™‚

Standing and Stepping

I have been working on my standing without holding on. I spend hours each day practicing and banging toys together when I am standing. I still need a toy, person or furniture to pull up on but I am getting stronger every day. Yesterday, Mommy was sitting on the sofa and I was about 3 feet away. I wanted a piece of bread Mommy had! I am a food-a-saur-us! I actually took three steps towards Mommy to get the food! ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn’t really know what I did except Mommy was cheering and clapping like crazy! Neat! So 9.5 months and my first steps are coming out. I should be a confident walker by the holidays! ๐Ÿ™‚ GO ME!

Holiday Photo Shoot, My Version!

We did the holiday card photo shoot yesterday, as mentioned in B’s blog. I was really chipper and ready to go. Daddy got a few great shots and then Breighton got silly.

He thought it was funny to keep pulling me down and then throw grass at me! BIG BROTHER THAT WAS NOT NICE!

Mommy stepped in for a bit to get me calmed back down after the many tackles in the grass.

BTW: I am standing totally independent (still need help from something or someone to get up). Yesterday I took a FEW STEPS!!!! UGH! It won’t be long now!

More and more confident everyday!
