Happy Birthday to ME!

We headed to St. Augustine to camp for my birthday. Before we left I gave my first 4-H demo of the year on Sharks in Florida.

We got to St Augustine and set up camp and checked out the area. In the morning we went up to the Castillo de San Marcos. We learned all about how the fort was built.

We saw a cannon that had exploded.

We saw the morning cannon drill. Boy was it loud!

Next we visited Fort Matanzas and learned about the history of the fort. Sadly you couldn’t access the fort since Hurricane Matthew caused so much damage to the boat docks.

We hiked some trails and explored the flora and fauna in the area.

We checked out the state beach that cars can drive on. We only walked on the beach as we had Dad’s little car. Next time…JEEP!

The campground was quiet and wooded. We found some fun trails and played at the campsite.

On my proper birthday we with the the Aligator Farm.

We learned about local animals.

We played on the playgrounds and explored all the animal exhibits.

It was fun to feed the alligators.

This is GOMEK he was HUGE!

I loved the kimono dragons.

Birthday selfies! :)

They even had albino alligators that they had to keep from the sunshine or they would get sunburn!

What a great way to turn 9!! Happy birthday to me!
