Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia

Acadia spans a lot of land and the park is broken up a bit by non park land. Today we drove over to Schoodic Point on the Schoodic Peninsula to explore the least explored part of the park.

We stopped by the visitors center and earned our Junior Ranger badges for Acadia. We have a centennial badge book too but have to do that at the main visitors center for the park.

We enjoyed hopping the rocks at Schoodic Point.

The waves were really crashing along the rocks.

Mom and Dad kept an eye on us as we hopping and scrambled all over the huge rocks.

We found thousands of snails on the rocks.

One section of the rocks required crossing a pool of water. Dad was vigilant to watch the tides as they change quickly. We didn’t want to get stuck out on the rocks.

The views are amazing! Besides all the pull-offs we hiked a long trail called the Sundew Trail at the art center. The smells of the trees are just amazing. I really love the balsam fir smell.

We were all tired and exhausted so we stopped for pizza on the way home. B and I read on our kindles until dinner came. I am reading the Percy Jackson series and absolutely addicted to it!
