We took a few days and went up to Spirit of the Suwannee campground in Live Oak. Â It was a wee bit chilly since we were “so far north”. Live Oak is near the Florida Georgia border.Â
The place is famous for its music festivals so they have lots of areas for bands to preform.
The first night it got so cold that the drips from the water hookup made a little ice tower on the ground.
Our home away from home.
Mom sent Dad to Publix for a few groceries and he came back with a new truck! This will help us pull the trailer so much better than the Jeep can.
We made some new friends, they live near us and are the same ages. We had a LOT of fun playing.
We went to a Pickin and Grinnin show. It was a bunch of people on string instruments and a huge sing along. I really enjoyed it.
We tried fishing but I think it was just too cold.
Mommy took this photo… kind of looks like Dad is breaking the rule on the sign but he was honestly just fishing.
See…
Mom and I went for a hike and discover a scavenger hunt!
We had a lot of fun just relaxing and exploring at the campgrounds.
We drove down to see the Suwannee River and I just wanted to sing the state song the whole time.
Now back to that scavenger hunt. We had quite an adventure all around the HUGE sprawling park. There were a lot of clues to find.
They even had a old time playground complete with hot metal slides and a super fast merry go round. I loved when Daddy made us go really fast.
One mission we had was to find the Dragon Door. We looked everywhere for it and finally found it! It was hidden on the back of a building where we actually started our search.
The proper hosts one of the largest bat houses in Florida. At dusk we went our to a field and watched thousands of bats fly out. The estimate is around 30-40,000 bats live in the bat house! Â
Saying goodbye to our new friends was hard. Hopefully we see them again!
In case I didn’t tell you, I spent all of my free downtime with a nice in a  book this trip. I am finally READING! I finished 2 books on the trip. Mommy said it finally CLICKED!
