Woodcarving Class

Mom signed us up for a woodcarving class in Safety Harbor at the History Museum. I was too young for the class but they let me take it as long as Mom stayed and helped me for safety reasons.  Restarted with a relief carving of a boat.

I liked using the different tools.

It was a lot of work but I kept with it.

After our first 3 hour class I had a really cool piece of artwork!

The next week I wanted to do another relief carving and picked a cobra. This was a multi week project. First I did the stop lines and then started the relief carving.

Next I got to wood burn on some details.

The instructors are a very nice elderly couple. He is the woodcarver and she is the wood burner.

I really loved the wood burning. I learned lots of techniques.

Then I got to paint my cobra.

I am loving this class quite a lot!

First Official Day of Pubic School Kids Fun

We don’t follow a traditional school calendar. Today the public schools started back up and we had a fairly easy day. Morning group Latin lessons.

Working on my 4H cat book. I was entertaining the cats and learning about grooming them.

We had a fun day of part school and part park with friends.

After showers I wanted to play with the stormtrooper helmet. I walked around the rest of the night with it on my head.

The next day we kicked back off the start of gymnastics at Apollo in Clearwater. The group was small but we still had a good time.

RIP Marb(le) Beta Fish

My FAVORITE beta fish died this week. I found a toy coffin at the craft store and decorated it so he would be happy.

IMG_1989

My fish was named Marb, even though no one in the family knew he real name. I called him Sir Fanger normally.

We buried Marb under the passion vine.

We had a nice little ceremony and said our goodbyes.

Mom was surprised how well I took the passing of “Marb”.

**Over the next few weeks I cried a lot about Marb’s passing. I was very sad. I did get a new fish, Africa.
