Crawling?

Okay, so my sitting up is getting MUCH better. I am rolling all over and then tucking my foot under my belly and then sitting straight up! Mommy and Daddy think it is really cute. Big brother is enjoying me more since I am MUCH more interactive. He is sharing really well with me and tolerating my new mobility. New mobility, eh? YUP! I am up on my knees and launching myself around the room. I have perfected “commando crawl” and am learning that my feet, knees and arms all can work together. Today I climbed over Mommy’s legs and lap and then rolled off to get to a crawling position and go stick my hand in her pancakes and maple syrup! AWESOME! I am loving that I can get all over.

So by all definitions, I am crawling. You should see me scoot around the room and giggle with glee. Mommy & Daddy said pictures ARE coming soon. We had a minor set-back today when Big Brother dumped coffee into the sump of the fish tank (see his blog for that nightmare).

Mommy is happy and sad today

Big brother is in summer camp for a few weeks so I am getting a LOT of Mommy time. I have a dedicated blanket on the floor (queen sized quilt) because apparently the carpet was making my eczema flair up. Well, Mommy has been putting me in a sitting position for the last few days and I am LOVING it. I greatly enjoy batting at my toys and reaching for new things. Mommy tucked me in to bed tonight and I rolled right to my side and closed my eyes. A few minutes later I was screaming and Mommy came to check on me. Low and behold, I WAS SITTING UP IN BED!!!! Mommy giggled with joy and then sighed. I am also starting to pull my knees under my tummy and lunge forward. Mommy thinks I will be crawling within a few weeks!  I can already roll all over the place and scoot backwards VERY well. Soon Mommy will be chasing me all over! hehe

Dermatology Update

Yesterday I went to the dermatologist to get my skin checked out. They ruled out a fungus and a few other things, like RINGWORM! It is eczema for sure. They gave me a prescription for a low dose steroid cream. Mommy gets to put it on the bad spots and then cover me up with a thick layer of Aveno Soothing Relief Cream. They also gave me a script for an antihistamine that I am supposed to take twice a day. I keep scratching at my diaper area and/or rubbing my legs and feet together to the point where the skin is starting to turn raw. They said the antihistamine will help with the itching. Since I haven’t been sleeping well at all, they should help with that too! If I don’t itch so bad then I can sleep better.

Mommy started the new ritual last night. I took my meds at 6:45 and by 7:30 I was asleep. I slept for 7.5 HOURS! The longest I have slept in weeks!!! Mommy was happy. I feel so much more rested today. My skin is looking better already!

Hopefully we can get this bad flare up fixed and then control it quickly if it flares again!

YEAH!
