Celebrating Bs Birthday

Today is Breighton’s birthday. Mommy took us to Meramac Caverns. Once again, I wasn’t too sure about this trip. It was rather chilly in the caverns. They were HUGE!

Supposedly, Jesse James used it as his hideout a few times.

All the stalactites and stalagmites were awesome.

IMG_3726

They showed us this area in normal lights and in rainbow lights. I liked the rainbow lights.

After the caverns we headed to drop B off at camp. I got to see a bunch of the camp animals. I LOVED the hedgehogs. (Note to Daddy, they both want a hedgehog now!!)

IMG_3761

I found a puppy to pet.

IMG_3762

Without Breighton to distract me and keep me awake I crashed within a few minutes of Mommy driving back towards our hotel.

IMG_3766

I perked up when we got to the hotel and wanted to go swimming. The hotel pool was crazy crowded so we walked to the hotel next door (we are allowed, they are owned by the same company) and used their pool.

IMG_3767

I am becoming quite the water bug. Without Brieghton to play off of I was much more brave about swimming.

IMG_3769

I went all around the pool holding the edge and then started swimming back and forth.

IMG_3770

HAPPY ME!

IMG_3773

Floating around the pool in my vest.

IMG_3775

I keep asking Mommy if we pick up Breighton in the morning. I already miss him.

St. Louis and the Arch

I did NOT want to get up this morning. I ended up in bed curled up with Mommy by the morning because Breighton was not sharing the bed well.

IMG_3639

I finally did get up and we hit the road for a 6 hour drive on towards St. Louis. We made good time so we ended up downtown today instead of tomorrow. We parked not he levy near the Mississippi River.

IMG_3642

We had a lot of fun on the riverboat cruise aboard the Tom Sawyer.

What a great view!

IMG_3658

We checked out the Westward Expansion Museum.

IMG_3661

We played with a bunch of toys from the “olden days”.

IMG_3664

We found a buffalo.

IMG_3668

We traced the journey of Lewis and Clark.

IMG_3671

We weighed ourselves on the scales.

IMG_3672

Mom was able to swap our tram to the top passes for ones for today. We didn’t even have to wait long! We lined up at these LITTLE 4 foot high and 20 inch wide doors.

IMG_3674

We were door #4.

IMG_3677

the pod fits 5 people. Very tight fit! I was beyond terrified.

IMG_3679

I liked looking out the windows at the top until I realized how high up we actually were.

IMG_3681

IMG_3683

I got scared again and started to cry. Mommy held me tight and said we could head back down.

IMG_3686

Phew!

IMG_3698

Heading down… finally.

IMG_3705

This is a spare pod at the bottom we could play in. It didn’t feel as cramped because the door was much bigger!

IMG_3706

I made it!

IMG_3713

Heading North

Mommy woke us up at 4:15am and we were loaded and on the road in 15 minutes. I crashed back out but not for very long.

IMG_3604

After 12 hours on the road we stopped for a pit stop at Ruby Falls near Chattanooga, Tennessee.

IMG_3606

We went down into the caves. I wasn’t so sure about the caves. They were wet and cold.

IMG_3607

The tour guide, Andy, was pretty awesome. He was also a bit scary!

IMG_3610

They have a lot of the cave formations labeled as to what people think they look like. This one is called “Donkey” because it looks like the backside of a donkey!

IMG_3613

Finally at the furthest point. The beautiful waterfall. It is lit up for just a few minutes so people can take photos. Then it goes black.

IMG_3626

IMG_3628

I was afraid it was going to turn black. Breighton really tried to make sure I was safe. He held on to me to keep track of me in case it did turn black before we got back up the ramp. We made it!

IMG_3631

Checking out the lookout tower. It was so pretty.
