Emmerson’s Journey

Today we went to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary and saw all sorts of monkeys. I am feeling a ton better but still a bit cranky. I was confined to my stroller once again but that was fine with me. It was toasty outside!

This is a baby lemur and I got to hold AND pet it. It is all wrapped up in the bluish purple stuffed monkey. Very fun!

Summer is surely here. It is beastly out already. I enjoyed a morning in the stroller while everyone else climbed on trucks and honked horns.

It was fine with me because I am still recovering from my double ear infection.

I thought the HUGE flag was pretty entertaining. It took about 10 people to get it up in the air and waving!

I was allowed out of the stroller long enough to visit the petting zoo. I LOVED following all the ducks, chickens and bunnies around!

I was very gentle and tender with all the animals. I really enjoyed this part of the Touch A Truck… even if they weren’t trucks!

No looking back. I am completely fearless when if comes to wandering away from Mommy. But if she tries even one step to walk away from me… I SCREAM! AHHH!

After a brief nap I felt recharged and was ready for some exploring. Daddy and Breighton were off doing the “Kim Possible” thing and I went on my own adventure.

This looks good but there is a fence around it, BUMMER!

Oh well, mission failed. So off to do something else.

Why is water shooting out of the ground??

Breighton explained the mechanics and how to play in the water.

Well, maybe it is!

I was soaked in just a few minutes. What a fun way to cool off and end the day at EPCOT.

Today, Breighton had an all day play date with Madi. The were playing in the backyard in the wading pool and hunting bugs and things. Suddenly they both attacked me and started dumping water on me.

I liked the water but the buckets had a LOT of sand in them as well. So I was covered in wet sand. Not so happy. But I was hanging with the big kids, that was really all that mattered in my world.

Breighton got a new frog and I was lacking attention because the frog was getting it all. I opted to put a top I found in an Easter egg in my mouth. I kept tipping my head so far back that I was falling over. But I CAN’T be ignored!

Breighton was trying to teach me how to climb the ladder to show me the frog. I was more occupied with the top in my mouth. Silly me!

Breighton and I loved our Easter baskets. They had gifts from Grandma Susie, Grandma Jo and Mommy & Daddy in them! Thanks to everyone!

This egg hunting is getting old. I want to hunt something else.

ROCKS! I filled my bucket with rocks!

After the rocks were set free and all my eggs were in my basket (via Mommy), Breighton and I compared what we found!

I wanted to trade… but he wasn’t too keen on that.

We went to Uncle Harry and Aunt Kay’s house for lunch. I was not into eating because the big kids finished fast and went off to do something.

Not even the cupcake made me happy.

Maybe I will have a little.. but but but the big kids are in the…

POOL! I want to be in the pool! NOW!

Oh wait, this is chocolate!

Okay, maybe I will eat the cupcake and then think about the pool some more.

Okay, I am good with the cupcake.. it is chocolate after-all!

I did get in the pool but only for a few minutes because I kept playing danger baby and trying to walk off the steps. Mommy said enough was enough and got me cleaned up and went inside. Bummer, I can’t wait to get in the pool!

I got up from my nap just in time to help Breighton color eggs.

Can you tell how enthused I was by egg coloring? I wanted to get my hands in the colors so I was just grumpy because I was denied!

Grandma Jo helped B to dip the eggs.

Finally Mommy let me used crayons on the eggs and helped me make funny designs that would only show up once B dyed the eggs!

Our masterpieces! Only two casualties! One in the boiling water and another rolled across the table and onto the floor… SMASH!

Today we went to the Easter Egg hunt in Safety Harbor. It was VERY scaled down from last year.

I had a fun time playing a few games before it was time for my “hunt”.

Mommy was being silly and kept putting rings on my head.

Waiting is the hardest part…

I enjoyed drawing with the egg shaped chalk. Then I thought it was funny to “hunt” for the chalk. I loaded it all in my bucket and ran away! Just practicing!

I finally got the hang of this hunting egg thing. Good thing there were only a few kids and TONS of eggs!

Finally a nearly full bucket… but there are still TONS of eggs on the ground.

I hunted for a few more and then gave up…

Off to the BIG field with the eggs for Breighton’s hunt!

We are counting down the days until my Gymboree membership is up. I am trying to maximize the fun in these last few weeks.
